Chocolate cherry cake
Ingredients/Compontents of Chocolate cherry cake recipe
- fudge cake mix any brand - 1 pkg
- can cherry pie filling - 1 item
- eggs - 2 item
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- oil if cake mix calls for it - 1 item
- Note: Consistency of cake is better if cherries are cut up
- cocoa - 2 Tbsp
- margarine or butter - 4 Tbsp
- milk - 4 Tbsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- dash of salt - 1 item
- sifted powdered sugar - 1/4 c
How to make chocolate cherry cake
Mix all ingredients thoroughly with spoon. (Note: Consistency of cake is better if cherries are cut up.) Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° for about 30 minutes. Cover with Chocolate Glaze.Chocolate Glaze:1/2 c. brown sugar2 Tbsp. cocoa4 Tbsp. margarine or butter4 Tbsp. milk1 tsp. vanilla dash of salt1/4 c. sifted powdered sugar Mix all ingredients, except powdered sugar, and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 2 minutes. Cool to lukewarm. Add powdered sugar until proper consistency to spread, being careful not to add too much. If it becomes too stiff, add a few drops of hot water.
