  • butter, softened 1
  • sugar - 3 c
  • eggs - 5 item
  • flour - 3 c
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • carton sour cream - 1 oz
  • boiling water - 1 c
  • vanilla extract - 2 tsp

How to make chocolate sour cream cake

Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, cocoa, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Add boiling water and mix well. Add vanilla; mix well. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake in pan 10 to 15 minutes; remove cake from pan and cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
