- shortening - 1/2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 3 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- 10x sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- hot water - 2 Tbsp
- food coloring - 1 item
- candy decorations - 1 item
How to make easter basket cookies
Frosting:2 c. 10x sugar1 tsp. vanilla2 Tbsp. butter2 Tbsp. hot water food coloring candy decorations Beat shortening, butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Combine dry ingredients; blend into mixture. Chill dough for easy handling; roll out on lightly floured surface. Cut out Easter shapes with cookie cutters. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 400° for 6 to 8 minutes, until lightly browned. Let stand a few minutes before removing to cool.Frosting: Combine first 4 ingredients in bowl; beat until smooth. Divide into 4 bowls; tint with food coloring. Spread on cookies; decorate with candy as desired.
