- cans frozen grape juice or 2 qt - 2 oz
- sugar less if you use your own sweetened juice - 5 c
- yeast, in 1/4 c - 1/4 tsp
How to make grape juice wineLet the yeast and water stand a little. Mix juice, sugar and some water together in a bowl to melt sugar a little, then add yeast mixture. Pour into a clean glass vinegar jug. Fill with water to neck of jug to make 1 gallon.
Put a large balloon over the neck of the jug. The balloon will fill with air and will gradually go down again until it is flat again, then your wine is done (about 5 weeks).
You can put it in smaller juice cans or whatever you wish, but check lids occasionally, as sometimes there is pressure yet. The balloon should be the 8 to 12-inch type when filled with air. Set in a closet or somewhere where it won't be disturbed. A cellar is too cool.
