Ingredients/Compontents of Hummingbird cake recipe

  • oil 1
  • eggs, beaten - 3 item
  • vanilla 1
  • can crushed pineapple undrained - 1 oz
  • ripe bananas, mashed - 2 item
  • sugar - 2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • all-purpose flour, sifted - 3 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon 1
  • Grease and flour three 9-inch cake pans
  • stick margarine, softened - 1 item
  • confectioners sugar - 1 lb
  • chopped walnuts - 1/2 c

How to make hummingbird cake

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour three 9-inch cake pans. Combine all wet ingredients. Add all dry ingredients and mix until moist. Pour into pans and bake 25 minutes. Cool and remove from pans.Frosting:8 oz. cream cheese, softened1 stick margarine, softened1 lb. confectioners sugar1/2 c. chopped walnuts Mix cream cheese and margarine. Blend in sugar. Frost layers, sides and top of cake. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
