Ingredients/Compontents of Icebox rolls(no kneading) recipe

  • boiling water - 2 c
  • shortening - 2 Tbsp
  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • yeast cakes - 2 item
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • eggs, well beaten - 2 item
  • flour - 8 c

How to make icebox rolls(no kneading)

To the 2 cups boiling water, add 1/2 cup sugar, shortening and salt. Let the mixture cool to lukewarm. Soften the yeast cakes in 1/4 cup lukewarm water. Add 1 teaspoon sugar to the yeast. Stir this mixture into the first one. Add eggs and 4 cups flour. Beat well. Stir in 4 more cups of flour and mix well. Cover the bowl and put in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour. Remove from the refrigerator and shape into a roll. Place in a round pan and let rise 1 to 2 hours, until double in size. Bake at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes.
