  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • milk 1
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • soy sauce - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • cooked rice - 2 c
  • diced cooked chicken - 3 c
  • small can water chestnuts, sliced - 1 item
  • can sliced mushrooms - 1 oz
  • sliced celery - 1 c
  • can chow mein noodles - 1 oz

How to make oriental chicken casserole

Make cream sauce with margarine, flour and milk. Add cheese, soy sauce, salt and pepper; stir until cheese melts. Combine rice, chicken, water chestnuts, mushrooms and celery. Place alternate layers of chicken-rice mixture and sauce mixture in 1 1/2-quart casserole. Arrange noodles around edge of casserole and bake in 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
