Quick chocolate buttermilk cake

- salt - 1/2 tsp
- sugar - 2 c
- flour - 2 c
- stick butter or margarine - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- beaten eggs - 2 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- In a saucepan, bring butter/margarine, water, shortening, buttermilk and cocoa to a boil
- cocoa - 2 Tbsp
- canned milk - 6 Tbsp
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
How to make quick chocolate buttermilk cake
Sift first 3 ingredients together. In a saucepan, bring butter/margarine, water, shortening, buttermilk and cocoa to a boil. Remove from heat. When mixture is cool, pour over sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Add beaten eggs and soda. Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes for layer cakes; 28 to 32 minutes for 9 x 13-inch pan.Frosting:1 stick butter or margarine2 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. canned milk1 box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla Bring to a boil the butter or margarine, cocoa and canned milk. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix to desired consistency. Allow cake to cool completely before icing.
