  • brown sugar - 2 c
  • oil - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • flour - 3 c
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 8 Tbsp
  • vanilla 1
  • flour 5
  • milk - 1 c
  • sugar - 1 c
  • shortening - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp

How to make whoopie pies

Cream together brown sugar and oil. Add eggs and beat. Add 3 c. flour, 1 c. milk, 1/4 tsp. salt, baking soda, cocoa and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla and mix well. Let batter stand for 1 hour. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 5 to 8 minutes. When cool, place 2 halves together with filling between.

To make filling, mix together 5 heaping tsp. flour and 1 c. milk. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Cool. Add 1 c. sugar, shortening, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. vanilla and beat until fluffy. Spread between two cakes and wrap separately in wax paper.
